Silent and productive

Steno Compact Keyboard's is a 78 quiet-touch keys designed to minimise noise as much as possible. Its normal size keys provide a good tactile feeling which results in a quick response when typing. The Steno keyboard was made flat with no possibilities to rise it with any kind of risers. This was made to bring the keyboard as close as and parallel to the desk surface. This absence of incline has a wider objective, prevent wrist extension which is always a major cause of Repetitive Strain Injuries (RSI). In situation where there are inclined keyboards, users unconsciously extend wrist to reach the keys. This continual movement lead to muscles extensions to be solicited continuously having as a result wrist tiredness which may lead to carpal syndrome. Muscles must always be in a tension free state and fully supported on the desk surface and parallel to IT tools.

The keyboard’s mat colour texture minimises and prevents from the artificial light (desk lamp – ceiling light) to reflect on the keyboard and disturb user’s vision. Moreover, the white colour blends in naturally with most of office desk environments and screen colours tonality. All the above establish an ergonomic unconscious visual comfort for the user boosting productivity and minimising fatigue at the end of the working day.

Steno keyboard improves productivity as it integrates 17 shortcuts that can help user to open or activate tools and applications (such as calculator, e-mail, media player…) or initiate actions (navigation on pages, media controller…) with a press of a combination of buttons. All these shortcuts are initiated by pressing the “Fn” key and by pressing the desired action key. The objective is to concentrate the majority of the most used actions at hand reach perimeter and recenter the activity within the visual field of its user. Steno keyboard by all these features optimises at the same time seating posture, user’s productivity and visual well-being.
