Central pointing devices are solutions that integrate the functions of the traditional mouse, in a horizontal layout. They integrate in most cases, keyboards shortcuts or other functions, for an increased productivity. These are tools which are placed below the keyboard and keep mouse's functions in line with user's visual axis. The objective is to centralise mouse movements and commands in front of the user. In this way it eliminates back and forth movement of the hand between the mouse and the keyboard which would have been the case in a standard office set up. The central pointing devices allow to balance hand's movements by soliciting both of them at the same time while avoiding the concentration all the activity on one hand and thus avoiding the monopoly of tensions on the muscles of one of the limbs.
