Tipy’s design responds to several problems and user profiles. It perfectly meets the requirements of those looking for a mobile, innovative and one-of-a-kind product. No other similar product can be found on the market. It also targets more specific needs, in particular for people with certain disabilities (absence of one of the two upper limbs) to use the keyboard and mouse without any restrictions, with only one hand. It is, as well, suitable for video game players. Tipy help gamers to take the control of the most used keys needed for the gaming experience (most of the time 8 maximum control keys are used for action games), under one and only hand and at a minimum space. With the other hand, the player can use the mouse to improve responsiveness and comfort. The ergonomics of the keys is another feature of this keyboard. The layout has been designed from scratch to improve their position according to their use. Those used frequently are positioned close to the finger’s resting points to be operated easily with the least possible movement. For this new keyboard design, Tipy has also implemented a fun method via an online tutorial to help its users to get familiar with the keyboard quickly and easily.

Tipy fits into this new research perspective that has been launched several years ago, to redefine and optimize the position of the keys. The objective is to reposition the most used letters in the center of the keyboard, in the central row, when the rest of the letters that are used less often, are situated around this central letter row. This research unveiled alternatives such as the DVORAK US and BEPO FR layouts that optimize the layout of the keys generating smoother typing.

Tipy is a single-handed, multilingual, multifunctional and innovative keyboard.

It is a daily tool which fit to various users’ profiles and environments. Tipy is above all a multifunctional keyboard as it is perfectly ambidextrous. It has 92 keys on each side that are appropriate for both right-handed and left-handed use. Just flip it over to use the appropriate side. It has also an integrated mouse so that it does not require any additonal mouse to be used. The integrated Bluetooth wireless technology provides a connection with almost all devices available on the market (laptop/desktop PC, tablet, etc.). Tipy is compatible with MacOS, iOS, Windows, Android and Linux. For those who prefer a wired connection with their Tipy keyboard, a 1 meter USB-C cable is provided.

The keyboard is perfectly multilingual integrating a total of 12 European layouts such as Danish, German, English, French, Finnish, Icelandic, Italian, Dutch, Norwegian, Portuguese, Swedish and the Spaniard. Integrating many languages under one single keyboard makes everyday life easier for many bilingual users. Users will only have to switch between regional layout quickly and easily to another layout in seconds without having to carry and change between regional keyboards itself. Tipy very light weight (567gr) makes it perfectly portable and it is easily transportable due to its dimensions (170mm x 270mm x 21mm), as it can slip easily into any computer bag when user travels.

As single-handed keyboard, Tipy offers an alternative to traditional single-handed keyboards. Single-handed keyboards are very expensive and often classified in handicap category products. The Tipy is an innovative product which wants to address specific handicap situations with a non medical approach. It can also be used as alternative in gaming configurations that require compact directional keys as it takes less space on the desk, than a traditional keyboard, leaving most of the surface for the mouse and its movements.
